内容简介：The state of the arts of morphodynamic modelling meant for evaluating the effects on global change and human interferences on estuaries and tidal lagoons is discussed. The discussion results in the following personal views on morphodynamic modelling of estuaries and tidal lagoons should be carried at present and how it can be improved in the future:
•Different types of models are all needed at present. Hopefully the gaps between them can be closed in the future.
•Appropriate modelling requires the right level of aggregation. Sufficient understanding of morphological equilibrium, in reality as well as according to model, is essential.
•More detailed/advanced description of physical processes, e.g. implementing mixed sediment, implies (often) more complexity.
•Decadal scale modelling will be (one of) the challenge for the coming years.
